So much of the best work of the sound team is designed not to be noticed but rather service the story. All the subtle sounds of foley cloth props hands footsteps backgrounds, effects and dialog blend together to bring to focus the subject of the story and the feeling inside the story. There are so many great new tools to blend and mix sounds but in the end it comes down to making a film come to life in its moment to moment passing of image and sound into our personal psyche.
