Alexander Markowski is an 22-year veteran of film and video audio engineering, whose credits include Academy award, Emmy award and Sundance winning programs and is currently Director of Audio Services and President of Audio Kitchen Post. His credits include over 50 narrative and documentary feature films, with broadcast credits for Discovery Channel, Lifetime, Bravo, Disney Channel, The Learning Channel, WE, DIY, HBO, CBS, NBC, and PBS.  His work experience includes production sound mixing, post-production audio supervision, post production sound editing, sound design and final re-recording sound mixing. In addition to his hands on creative experience in sound work Alex has designed and supervised the construction of post-production audio facilities at Duart Film and Video in New York City. Alex continues to work in Wilmington as ADR mixer for such shows as Surface NBC and One Tree Hill WB and as a Supervising Sound editor, designer and final mixer for independent features. Alex has recently completed sound design and mixing for “The 27 Club” which was in the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival, Seattle Film festival and Moscow film festival later this year. Alex mixed academy award winning best short “Thoth” in 2002 and has mixed three feature documentaries for film icon Frederick Wiseman and Zipporah Films.

Supervising Sound Editor - Extensive skills in organizing in house editing teams in addition to free- lance talent.    Creation of “all in” post audio bids. Responsible for meeting schedules and technical specifications of delivery requirements for Domestic and International distribution.

•  Acoustic consultant and construction manager for acoustic treatments at the Screening room at EUE Screen Gems Wilmington 2002. 

•  Design Consultant for Edit Lab Kenan Hall at University of North Carolina at Wilmington 2006.

•  Supervised the design and reconstruction of the Duart mixing stage.  This room was designed for 5.1 theatrical and video mixing.  Completed September 1998.

•  Supervised the design and creation of two audio for video, edit/mix suites. April 2000 and October 2001

•  Laboratory expertise with motion picture sound track negative and positive print quality control procedures.

•  Extensive experience with professional audio and video equipment used in post production from archive formats to all current digital formats.

•  Sony Pictures Classics Technical advisor for International and Domestic requirements for audio.
